OK Guy,

I'll PM you if /when I come up with a Beta..

John.

I may have spoken too soon. Please let me check some more. I got the freezing when I used the green arrowed icon (plot and run immediately). I would like to try the connect button, but that does not allow the SNRM to display in the sys tray icon...a BIG plus for me. If I click the plot... and then stop the plotting, the SNRM becomes visible and seems to stay so. This maybe a way for getting it to appear.

Rambling a bit, sorry.

Cheers

Guy

D/L the beta and testing.

The Run button is the only way to start the continuous sample timer but you can use telnet only AND still have the Icon in the SysTray if you go to the Configuration -> Telnet -> Experimental Settings Tab and check the "Disable http graph plotting"

Using a 10 sec delay with the beta, so far so good. Would have expected at least one failure based on the number of boots between now and when I installed it.

Cheers

If that has cured it, it's a bit naughty of Windows to start launching programs from its Startup Folder before it's finished setting up the hardware but I suppose it is Windows :)

Hi John,

Seem to have got sorted. Ran with firewall turned off and no problem. Blundered about in the firewall settings (never really understood firewalls) and it is now running fine with the firewall turned on, although I do manually turn the timer on and off to be on the safe side.

I must say RS is a wonderfull piece of kit. The BT feed comes into my house and is then sent out wirelessly to 12 other houses. Recently BT has started upping the line speed during the day when there is very little useage. This would result in the line dropping during evening when the heavy users came in and the noise margin went below 6. Setting the noise margin to 7 has so far (famous last words) cured the problem. Also the alarm will be very useful as I will now know there is a problem before the phone rings!!!!

Do you have a donation page?

Cheers,

Max.

Hi Max.

Which firewall? In the router or Windows? Just check that you haven't got the RouterStats Webserver running (Webserver Tab) - I can't think of anything else that would upset the firewall.

Nope. No donations page (by choice) but thanks for the thought. :)

John.

@ Max

It is not BT doing this; it is common and normal. For maximum stability, resync/reboot your router at night.

Ping John, new DGTeam firmware released for DG834GT

Cheers

Ta. Let me know if there's any problems with RS... I'm running the ST585 at the moment and don't want to stop it if I can avoid it.

So far still no problems, Webserver not running. Comodo firewall.

Dr Teeth, I did realised I could resync the router on an evening but with having 12 people on the feed who might be in the middle of bank transactions I thought it maybe wasn't a good idea. With RS I can adjust things during the day when the useage is very light.

No problems so far and the delay has been 100% successful here.
